Space-Time Coding Devices and Systems

The exponential growth of wireless and electromagnetic (EM) technologies impose us to find alternative solutions to the classical “more power” and “wider bandwidth” recipes that are generally adopted for improving the capacity of communications networks or the sensing performance of radars. Members of the ELEDIA Reserch Center are investigating on the profitable exploitation of the time variance introduced to antenna array and metamaterials design problems as a systematic extra level of control but with great potentials to next generation antennas and propagation problems, including the following

  • space-time coding smart-skins
  • secure-communication
  • monopulse radar, direction finding, direction of arrival estimation
  • MIMO communications
  • wireless power transmission
