
The ELEDIA Research Center is pleased to present the Standard Courses of the 2027 M3 Postgraduate Program in Multifunctional Metamaterials and Metastructures at the University of Trento.
The Standard Courses provide a multidisciplinary educational pathway covering the fundamental principles, advanced modeling techniques, manufacturing processes, characterization methods, and engineering applications of metamaterials and metastructures.
📘 Constrained-Choice Courses
Participants will select 2 out of the following 4 courses:
- Foundations of Electromagnetic Waves (FEW)
- Foundations of Material Science (FMS)
- Foundations of Mechanics and Acoustics (FMA)
- Foundations of Waveguides Propagation (FWP)
📚 Mandatory Courses
Participants will select 2 out of the following 4 courses:
- Additive Manufacturing of Metasurfaces and Metamaterials — Technologies (AMT)
- Advanced Modeling of Exotic Metamaterials (AMEM)
- Analysis and Design of Linear and Nonlinear Metastructures (LNM)
- Dynamics and Homogenization of Periodic Metamaterials (DHPM)
- Engineering Properties of Materials (EPM)
- Hydrodynamic Metamaterials for Fluid Flows (HMFF)
- Introduction to Multi-Functional Metamaterials (IMFM)
- Metasurfaces and Metamaterials for Electromagnetic Wave Manipulation (EWM)
- Numerical Methods for Electromagnetic Modeling of Metamaterials and Metastructures (NMEM)
- Random Vibrations and Uncertainty Quantification for Metamaterials (RVUQ)
- Smart and Nano Metamaterials (SNM)
- Topological and Mechanical Characterization of Metamaterials (TMCM)
Each course includes 15 hours of teaching activities and awards 3 ECTS, offering participants advanced theoretical knowledge and practical skills for the analysis, design, modeling, manufacturing, and validation of multifunctional metamaterials and metastructures.
Did you complete a 4-year Bachelor’s degree abroad?
Graduates holding a 4-year Bachelor’s degree obtained abroad are eligible to apply. If admitted, they will follow dedicated learning activities to align with the program requirements.
