The ELEDIA Research Center is pleased to announce the Special Section on
“New Optimization Strategies for Synthesizing RF, Microwave, mmWave, and Optical Devices”
in the IEEE Open Journal of Antennas and Propagation – OJAP, co-guest edited by Prof. Andrea MASSA (ELEDIA@UniTN – DICAM).
Submission Deadline: 31 July 2025
Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:
- New and innovative optimization algorithms with an application focus on RF, mmWave, microwave antennas and optical systems
- Comparative analysis, computational investigation, convergence studies, etc. for different optimization techniques used for novel electromagnetic device synthesis
- Gradient computation techniques such as adjoint-based methods, Automatic Differentiation, etc.
- Optimization methods of interest include but are not limited to: Genetic Algorithm (GA), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), Covariance Matrix Adaptation Evolution Strategy (CMA-ES), Multi-Objective Lazy Ant Colony Optimization (MOLACO), Wind Driven Optimization (WDO), Topology Optimization (TO), etc.
- State-of-the-art review articles within the aims and scope of application
