New achievements from research project OWL

We are pleased to share some achievements from our research project #OWL!
The “Opportunistic Wireless Localization” (OWL) project introduces a groundbreaking technology that revolutionizes #indoor#localization and #human#activity #monitoring, all while prioritizing #privacy and #scalability.

Unlike computer-vision approaches that encounter challenges in terms of privacy and difficult lighting or long-distance scenarios, the OWL system designed and developed by #ELEDIA harnesses the power of #wireless #sensing #technology to overcome these obstacles effortlessly. By leveraging the existing Wi-Fi infrastructure, including standard #MIMO #EM signals from #commodity #access #points, we have eliminated the need for any specialized hardware or wearable sensors. Furthermore, our innovative #machine #learning methodology has showcased exceptional versatility, extending from user-presence detection to high-resolution gesture recognition.

At the ELEDIA Research Center, we believe in the potential of cutting-edge technology to shape the future. Join us in celebrating these remarkable outcomes from the OWL project as we continue to drive advancements in the field of indoor localization and human activity monitoring.
The research activity is carried out by ELEDIA@UniTN (Università di Trento), ELEDIA@TSINGHUA (Tsinghua University), and ELEDIA@AUTH (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH)).
Stay tuned for more updates and opportunities to collaborate!
