Integrated optics allows the fabrication of highly complex Photonic Integrated Circuits (PIC) for optical communication networks.
PICs are a promising technology to manage the quickly growing data traffic and meet the requirements of bandwidth and distance, with compact, low cost, and low-power consumption tuneable devices.
