Exploiting RF Materials for New Antennas and Metamaterials

The ELEDIA Research Center is pleased to announce the upcoming Seminar by Prof. William WHITTOW (Loughborough University, UK), titled “Exploiting RF Materials for New Antennas and Metamaterials” that will be held onsite in Room 2R, Dipartimento di Ingegneria Civile, Ambientale e Meccanica, Via Mesiano 77, Trento.

This seminar will explore the groundbreaking degrees of freedom enabled by advanced materials and modern manufacturing techniques in the design of next-generation antennas and metasurfaces. The presentation will specifically focus on how 3D printing and additive manufacturing unlock unprecedented geometric flexibility, alongside the integration of high-performance ceramics and the challenges of accurate dielectric characterization. Additionally, the talk will cover the development of visually unobtrusive metasurfaces using optically transparent conductors. Whether you are working on microwave, millimeter-wave (MMwave), or Terahertz applications, this talk will provide crucial insights into how materials science is reshaping the future of wireless communications.
