The ELEDIA Research Center is pleased to share that the first three course modules of the International Summer School “Green Electromagnetic Spectrum: From Physical Limits of Information to Integrated Communications” have been successfully completed.
Held in Hangzhou, China, from 23 July to 5 August 2026, the International Summer School brings together international and Chinese PhD students for an intensive programme exploring the integration of communication, sensing, and wireless power transfer for sustainable next-generation electromagnetic systems. Its broader vision is to contribute to the development of a zero-power, zero-blind-spot, and energy-self-sufficient digital world through the convergence of physics, information, and energy.
Over six intensive days, participants had the opportunity to explore key emerging topics in electromagnetic and communication technologies through lectures, discussions, and interactive student activities:
– 23–24 July — Electromagnetic Information Theory
Prof. Wei E. I. SHA
– 25–26 July — Integrated Sensing And Communication (ISAC)
Prof. Xudong CHEN
– 27–28 July — Spectrum-Efficient Near-Field Communications
Prof. Linglong DAI
These sessions provided valuable insights into the theoretical foundations and future technological developments shaping next-generation wireless systems, while fostering active exchanges among lecturers and participants.
We would like to thank the distinguished professors for sharing their expertise and all the students for their enthusiastic participation.
The International Summer School will now continue with a programme of cultural and academic activities designed to further strengthen interaction among international and local participants. Following two days dedicated to Chinese heritage and the exploration of Hangzhou, the upcoming modules will address Surface Electromagnetic Engineering and Smart Environments, led by Prof. Andrea MASSA and Dr. Giorgio GOTTARDI, and Megahertz Wireless Power Transfer Systems, delivered by Prof. Chengbin MA. The programme will conclude on 5 August with the final evaluation and graduation ceremony.
