
The M3 Postgraduate Program on Multifunctional Metamaterials and Metastructures at the University of Trento is designed to develop advanced expertise for the analysis, design, modeling, manufacturing, and engineering of innovative materials and structures for next-generation biomedical applications.

The M3 Program combines materials science, mechanics, acoustics, electromagnetics, advanced engineering, computational methods, and hands-on experience to address key topics such as:
- Biomedical materials and structures — engineering advanced materials and architectures tailored to the mechanical, physical, and functional requirements of biomedical applications
- Biomechanics and mechanobiology — investigating how biological tissues and engineered materials respond to forces, deformation, vibration, and mechanical stimuli
- Advanced modeling, simulation, and optimization — analyzing complex interactions between engineered structures and biological systems through state-of-the-art computational techniques
- Additive manufacturing and personalized solutions — exploiting advanced fabrication technologies to develop complex, customized, and patient-specific biomedical components
- Biomedical sensing, imaging, and diagnostics — applying engineered materials and advanced electromagnetic and acoustic methods to detection, monitoring, imaging, and diagnostic applications

Graduates holding a 4-year Bachelor’s degree obtained abroad are eligible to apply. If admitted, they will follow dedicated learning activities to align with the program requirements.
