Prof. William WHITTOW Seminar on “Why More Wireless? From Mobile Phones to Healthcare, Sensors to Driverless Cars, Space Communications – and Beyond.”

The ELEDIA Research Center is pleased to announce the upcoming seminar by Prof. William WHITTOW (Loughborough University, UK), titled “Why More Wireless? From Mobile Phones to Healthcare, Sensors to Driverless Cars, Space Communications – and Beyond.” that will be held online and onsite in Room 2R, Dipartimento di Ingegneria Civile, Ambientale e Meccanica, Via Mesiano 77, Trento.

Wireless technologies are an integral part of modern life, yet their principles often remain unfamiliar to many. This seminar is designed to provide an accessible introduction to the fundamentals of wireless communications, making the topic approachable for a broad, multidisciplinary audience.
Starting with a brief and intuitive overview of electromagnetic waves, the talk will then present key highlights from Prof. WHITTOW’s extensive research activity. Through selected examples, Prof. WHITTOW will illustrate how electromagnetic concepts and advanced materials enable a wide range of applications, from mobile and wearable devices to healthcare sensing, RFID systems, and emerging technologies such as autonomous vehicles and satellite communications. The seminar will offer a clear perspective on the evolving role of wireless technologies and their growing impact across multiple domains.
