
The ELEDIA Research Center was honored to welcome Prof. Atif SHAMIM (KAUST, Saudi Arabia) for an inspiring seminar on “Flexible, Wearable, and Disposable Wireless Communication and Sensing Systems Through Additive Manufacturing”.
Prof. SHAMIM’s seminar explored how additive manufacturing technologies can revolutionize the design and deployment of next-generation wireless systems. His talk highlighted innovative approaches to realizing low-cost, flexible, and wearable electronics, leveraging techniques such as inkjet and screen printing on unconventional substrates including plastics, paper, and textiles. From advanced antenna and sensor designs to multilayer fully printed components and functional inks enabling tunable and reconfigurable devices, the seminar showcased cutting-edge developments bridging materials, fabrication, and system-level integration. By connecting fundamental research with real-world applications, including scalable industrial solutions, the talk outlined a clear pathway from laboratory innovation to commercial impact.
