EMS prototype measurements at Villa Griffone in Sasso Marconi

On Thursday August 7th we had the privilege of carrying out an initial measurement session at Villa Griffone in Sasso Marconi – the historic site where Guglielmo Marconi performed his pioneering wireless transmission experiments back in 1895.

The activity focused on testing an ELEDIA-designed and fabricated Electromagnetic Skin (EMS) prototype, developed within the framework of the project “ELECTROMAGNETIC SKIN MACROSCOPIC MODELING, DESIGN, OPTIMIZATION, AND VALIDATION” (EMS-MMDV)”, coordinated by Prof. Giacomo OLIVERI with a total budget of > 400KEuro.

The Project is funded within the framework of the Partenariato Esteso RESTARTRESearch and innovation on future Telecommunications systems and networks, to make Italy more smART” (RESTART), (PNRR) – MISSIONE 4 COMPONENTE 2, “Dalla ricerca all’impresa” INVESTIMENTO 1.3, “Partenariati estesi a Università, centri di ricerca, imprese e finanziamento progetti di ricerca” – Bando a Cascata a valere sui fondi CUP J33C22002880001.

A big thanks to the project partners involved in today’s measurement campaign — Telebit and the University of Bologna — for their support and collaboration in this exciting step forward in modern wireless technologies, carried out right at the birthplace of the very first experiments in the field.
