Dr. Achilles BOURSIANIS Talk @ MOCAST 2026

The ELEDIA Research Center is pleased to share that Dr. Achilles BOURSIANIS, member of the ELEDIA@AUTH NetNode directed by Prof. Sotirios GOUDOS, delivered a presentation entitled “Dual-band Inverted-F MIMO Antenna Using Enhanced Hummingbird Algorithm for Mobile Phone Terminals” at the MOCAST 2026.

The contribution focused on the design of compact dual-band MIMO antennas for modern mobile terminals, leveraging advanced bio-inspired optimization techniques.
In particular, the enhanced Hummingbird Algorithm was employed to efficiently explore the design space, enabling improved antenna performance in terms of bandwidth, isolation, and overall efficiency—key aspects for next-generation wireless communication systems.
The work highlights the growing impact of computational intelligence methods in electromagnetics and antenna engineering, in line with current research trends in the field.
