We are pleased to share some pictures and highlights from the presentation delivered by Prof. Oreste S. Bursi<\/a> (Director of the UniTrento – DICAM<\/a> Department at the Universit\u00e0 di Trento<\/a>) at the 18th International Congress on Artificial Materials for Novel Wave Phenomena (METAMATERIALS 2024), currently taking place in Crete, Greece (09-14 September 2024).

Prof. BURSI’s presentation, titled “Experimental and Numerical Investigation on Bistable Locally Resonant Elastodynamic Metamaterials” (co-authored with Tugberk Guner<\/a> and Marco Broccardo<\/a>), demonstrated the potential of bistable and auxetic elements for vibration mitigation and energy harvesting, positioning them as fundamental components in the creation of future Smart Electromagnetic Environments (SEMEs).

Additionally, Prof. BURSI, who is also a member of the steering committee of the Postgraduate Program (Master Universitario di II Livello) in “Multifunctional Metamaterials & Metastructures (M3)”, introduced the program, coordinated by Prof. Andrea Massa<\/a> at the University of Trento.
