More in detail, the design is carried out within the compressive sensing (CS) framework by formulating the problem at hand as the search of the feeding network weights with maximally?sparse gradient. Accordingly, the problem is solved thanks to a customized total?variation CS (TV?CS) method able to guarantee the matching of user?defined constraints on the radiated pattern and at the same time minimizing the number of clusters within the aperture. Some numerical results are shown to verify the effectiveness and the potentialities of the proposed methodology.
