%X The synthesis of “optimal” compromise sum and difference patterns subject to arbitrary sidelobe bounds is addressed by means of a simple and effective sub-arraying technique based on the optimal excitation method. The obtained results positively compare with those from state-of-the-art methods both in terms of performances and computational indexes.
